Why Code Clubs?

Increase access

Only about 37% of U.S. public middle schools report offering dedicated computer science coursework.

Sustain interest

Girls make up 49% of computer science students in elementary school, but only 44% in middle school and 33% in high school.

Build confidence

By age 6, girls are already less likely than boys to associate brilliance with their own gender, and they begin to avoid activities described as being for “really, really smart” children.
